What makes hemp different from other plant oils is that it contains the perfect balance of Omega 3 and Omega 6 essential fatty acids. These fatty acids are critical for optimal skin health. Hemp oil is also a great source of linolic acid, an omega 6 fatty acid that reduces inflammation and aids in acne treatment.
It is said to closely match our own skins lipids so the essential fatty acids are readily absorbed into the skin. It is known to soothe and alleviate dry skin, moisturizing it so that the complexion looks revitalized and radiant. Hemp Oil contributes greatly to protecting the skin’s moisture barrier, improving the texture of the skin, and reducing the visible signs of aging. It is considered a dry oil, so it has less of a greasy feel.
- Store hemp seed oil in a cool dark place to increase shelf life - the fridge is best!
- Hemp Oil can be used by itself as a moisturizer, or it can be combined with essential oils for enhanced effectiveness.
For a nice blend of oils, Hemp Oil blends well with Aloe Vera Gel, Olive Oil, and Avocado Oil.

Hemp and Science
Hemp seed oil contains the perfectly balanced 3:1 ratio of Omega 6 (linoleic/ LA) to Omega 3 (alpha-linolenic/ LNA) essential fatty acids, determined to be the optimum requirement for long-term human health. In addition, it also contains smaller amounts of 3 other polyunsaturated fatty acids - gamma-linolenic acid (GLA), oleic acid and stearidonic acid.
It has a full amino acid spectrum meaning that it provides complete protein and it has a high mineral content. The oleic acid in hemp seed oil is moisturizing and cell regenerating with anti-inflammatory benefits. The linoleic acid helps restore barrier properties, acts as an anti-inflammatory, and moisture retainer.
GLA or Omega 6 has proven benefits for skin ailments like eczema or psoriasis and inflammation issues with the body such as nerve issues and rheumatoid arthritis. Studies have shown it can increase skin barrier repair faster than linoleum acid. It helps skin retain moisture and reduces itch. It also has been known to soothe joint pain and symptoms of allergies as well as encourage healthier brain activities
